Structural Health Monitoring System
SHMS is a new method of Non Destructive Test (NDT) in detecting damage in the structure by integrating the sensor system to the structure of the infrastructure.
This technology is believed able to extend the service life of infrastructure, due to early detection of decreasing in its strength (degradation) and damage (deterioration)
The objective of this SHMS is to monitor the performance of structure toward the combination
of loading, such as in the bridge: traffic, wind, earthquake and other natural factors.
This system will assist interest parties to manage performance life cycle of the structure with a
regular maintenance and anticipated repairing, and traffic management in the event incident
such as typhoon, earth quake, and accident.
